Steel I Beam Before Sandblasting

sandblasting to remove pcb paint

General Electric had recently dismantled a building and testing revealed that some of the steel I beams that were taken out of the facility were covered with PCB paint. Dec-Tam erected a containment with engineering controls where the steel was cut into 10 to 12 foot sections and the paint was sandblasted from the structure.  The I beams were then inspected by General Electric’s Industrial Hygienist and they were loaded into dumpsters to begin the recycling process.  Click here to see the video of the project.
